Before putting their homes on the market, many sellers upgrade various features in order to get the most out of their sales. But which upgrades will help you get top dollar? Today I’ll discuss the best ways to prepare your home if your goal is to get the most money possible when you sell:

1. Neutralize the color palette. It’s always best to neutralize any bold or unique colors for your walls.

2. Shore up your curb appeal. Make sure your home’s curb appeal is attractive to potential buyers who drive up. That could involve changing the color of your front door or sprucing up your landscaping.

3. Focus on the flooring and the kitchen. For flooring, you could replace old carpet or even consider putting in hardwood, tile, laminate, or vinyl. Freshen up your kitchen’s cabinetry by replacing or painting them and updating the hardware.

4. Let in natural light. Make sure that all your light bulbs match, shed warm light, and aren’t too bright. If you have any solar screens in your windows, take those off to let the light in. Be sure to clean the windows, as well.

Those are just a few of the things we’d recommend doing if you’re preparing your home for the market. If you want more tips or have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us by phone, text, or email. Hope to hear from you soon!
